       奖励、表扬固然能给孩子勇气和信心,但采用符合学生心理的方法和手段开展教学,在教学内容上设置能让学生自我挑战、迈步前进的台阶则更加持久而稳定。我们看到,屠老师给我们提供了这样一个精彩的案例。

 

《大师谈教育心理》是一本不错的书,汇集了古今中外教育大师的至理名言,细细品读,确实能够令人豁然开朗,一些正在纠结的问题似乎一下子有了解决的方法。不过也会有点小小的惭愧,日常教学中难免心浮气躁甚至大动肝火时,有没有说了不该说的话?是否伤着孩子的心?

常常自省,认为自己总体上还是一个比较注意照顾学生内心需要的老师,因为不忍看到孩子的小脸被失望笼罩,更不愿看到学生常常愤怒或悲伤,所以会想尽办法“逗”他们,奖励也好,表扬也好,活动设计也好,不遗余力,只为博得孩子们嫣然一笑和浓浓的学习的兴趣。

某日下午的课上,讲到一篇阅读文章,是介绍Salt Palace Hotel(盐宫旅馆)的。学生对这座奇特的旅馆很感兴趣,特别是墙上那个告示 Don’t lick the wall.’引发了他们无限的想象。

为了加深孩子们的体验,我设计了一个简单的说话练习,主题为One Night in Salt Palace Hotel. 一经公布,学生们一片哗然 But we havent been there!’我不为所动,‘Yesso lets imagine. Come on, thatll be fun!’接着用类似催眠的提问把他们引入情景:Who did you go with? Why did you go to that hotel? How did you go, by plane or by train? What did you see when you were on the way to the hotel? (文中介绍到这所旅馆建在一片盐形成的荒漠中,那沿途的风光自然非同一般)What was your room number? What colour was the door? How did the door open? What did you see in your room? How was your bed? What did you eat for dinner?...学生在同伴的互相启发下,逐渐进入状态,妙趣横生的描述接踵而来:I went there by camel. I saw the trees and grass dead because the ground was too salty I open the door of my room, everything in my room was made of salt. Even my bathroom is made of salt. I wanted to take a bath but there was no water. There was a sign on the wall. It said: Take a bath with salt, please. I did a massage with salt, it was comfortable! I slept on my bed and it was hot. I sweated a lot! When I woke up I found the bed melted! 这些还是比较有技术含量的答案,更有无厘头的:All the food in the hotel was made of salt, salted meat, salted fish, even the vegetables were salted There was no beds or quilts in the room, only a hole on the floor. We must sleep in the hole and be covered with salt.
